I feel like Facebook is getting more and more desperate.
There have been times I've loved it, but in the last year or two I've dialled back my usage to almost nothing. Now I get regular emails / (and when I log in a whole load of) red dot notifications - both things that used to be alerts about just _ME_ - that say things like "[friend name] just posted".
With an undeletable app, I wonder how far away we are from someone embedding Facebook notifications in the OS?
- lapnitnelav 8y agoYeah, I've had the same feeling the last 8 weeks or so, my phone is regularly spammed by FB's notifications about some random crap that is irrelevant to me. I was discussing that with a friend and sure enough, within the minute, a FB notification about adding some random dude popped up.
- macNchz 8y agoI kind of casually fell off of using facebook like 5 years ago–it just kind of slowly lost my interest. Those useless notifications–via push, sms and email–wound up prompting me to unsub from all facebook communications and ultimately delete the app.
- djohnston 8y agothis embedding is common with fb google and microsoft products, and has been around for years. this is not new and no one is desperate
