That was a pos! The gps didn't work, the performance was laughable compared to the iphone 4 at the time. How can you say this???
- inawarminister 8y agoGPS didn't work? Was this one of those crippled AT&T or Verizon version (which I only hazily remembers)? I had the international Galaxy S for 2 years (2012-2014) and it was really great... Then again, I was into flashing ROMs every week or so, so perhaps the original TouchWiz performance was that bad?
- bacro 8y agoI had the internation Galaxy S as well and never my GPS worked, I say again __NEVER__ even after the Samsung promised fix. Lots and lots of lag when doing anything, the screen was awful with blue tint (it was marketed that amoled was much better than lcd at the time, a f*ing lie), battery was mediocre. Maybe you are talking about Galaxy S 2? I had mine in 2010.
- inawarminister 8y agoHmm mine was a hands-me-down from my father, and I actually never used a S2 lol Went from Galaxy S to iPhone 4S to Note 2 I think I fixed the GPS by following an instruction in XDA.... I don't remember, its been 5 years already? God I feel old
- a11595 8y agomaybe they had a couple of lemons and you got one. I loaded a new gps driver from xda and gps worked great. when your new iphone wasn't getting a cell tower signal because you were holding it wrong, did you just load a new modem driver? how about the fact that while all the phones were on 3g at the time, the iphone was 2g? my performance was great, and the phone still works fine to this day, with security patches from xda. I use it for travel so if border agents ask questions I don't like coming back in and I respond with graphic descriptions of how their mom takes it in the ass, they can take it away.
