Another distinguishing factor between Rackspace Cloud and EC2 or Linode are bandwidth caps. Rackspace limits outbound public network throughput to 10mbps for 256mb instances to 70mbps for 16gb instances. EC2 and Linode both provide an uncapped GigE Internet uplink for instances of any size.

- megaman821 16y agoThis actually becomes really important when you set up a small server as a proxy sever. We had to bump up our HAProxy server to a 512mb instance in order to get adequate bandwidth to serve our sites.
- jfine 16y agoThey both limit internal network speeds also. EC2's limits are much higher than RS's.
