We're talking about an alternative to a car that is already designed to carry an extra motor around all the time on the existing axles.
- bluGill 8y agoYou cannot just take the engine out of a car and replace it with batteries. The weight balance changes so you need to reconsider the whole suspension system. (yes people do this all the time, it works okay but even a small increase in warranty claims is enough to make a manufacturer unwilling to do that.
