Was thinking of doing the same thing but without involving any third-party services and relying on good old-fashioned web scraping.
- tantalor 8y agoWho's going to write this hypothetical web scraper? And update it when the bank website changes? There's a reason the service costs money. Is there reputable FOSS bank website scraper?
- lxe 8y agoMe. That's the point: I just write the scrapers for the sites only I need, which isn't a lot. And if they change, I simply fix it. I'm willing to bet Mint and others have done exactly this (or are doing it now) as well.
