Perhaps "cross-dominant" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-dominance https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-dominance) [which I just came across] is a better term for people like us. I don't view myself as ambidextrous because I'm definitely not equally good with both hands. Rather, handedness for me is strongly preferential based on the task.
