- cat199 8y agothese things are not always at odds https://www.dw.com/en/how-germany-got-the-russian-revolution-off-the-ground/a-41195312 https://www.dw.com/en/how-germany-got-the-russian-revolution...
- ademup 8y agoSee the aforism "Privatizing profits and socializing losses". I think the author is saying that the costs are being socialized by having taxes fund construction and maintenance while the owners are making it happen via the mechanism of crony capitalism.
- the_cat_kittles 8y agoseems kind of dumb to call anything that uses money from taxes socialist.
- yxhuvud 8y agoPrivatizing profits is not compatible with socialism though. Not even close.
- tylersmith 8y agoIt's sloppy language to call it "socialism" but it has socialistic properties. The worst of socialism mixed with the worst of capitalism presented under both terms so people from both sides will agree.
- angel_j 8y agoyes, this is clearly a case of communist-capitalism a la China and Russia; there's nothing socialist about it.
