Needs to be substantial penalties for these transgressions or it's just another "cost of doing business".
- ascorbic 8y agoA lot of these are likely to have been from EU residents, so there certainly could be some very large fines coming their way, courtesy of the GDPR.
- alkonaut 8y agoWow, I didn’t think about that - it applies to EU citizens even when not in the EU. And for a few types of business you have to have physical presence where you operate (hotels is one) so the EU can always force Marriott to pay up or extort the money from their business in the EU.
