- detaro 8y agoI haven't heard of Github actually enforcing this, but the described limit is one free account per person. If you need a separate work account, you (or your employer) are supposed to pay for that.
- em-bee 8y agothey do enforce it. it's more a matter of their scanner detecting that two accounts belong to the same person. my account was locked until i removed the duplicate accounts i had. fortunately my extra accounts were no longer needed anyways, so i had no problem with that and got reinstated quickly. i also had a lengthy constructive exchange with the person handling the case about the downside of this policy and why one might legitimately want multiple github accounts. the response i got suggested that if someone could bring a legitimate case why they needed multiple unpaid accounts, then they would be willing to make an exception. which means, at least they are willing to listen to reason. personally, i think that if you use github for work, then it's a fair argument to say that that should be a paid account.
