Microsoft fought rich browser standards in favor of their own (ActiveX, Silverlight) and ultimately lost that battle.
- wvenable 8y agoApple fought rich browser standards in favour of app store which provides an interface for installing applications as easy as web browsing and won that battle. And they will continue to win that battle because they provide discoverability, monitization, hosting, and full device access and performance. The web alone can't compete against that.
