Kind of where my mind went. People who go to shelters know or have a generally good idea they're getting a pet that may or may not have a history. Sometimes that history is an aggressive one and the animal is going to need a LOT of attention to train out undesirable habits. I have such a dog and we went through such a period. Is the 17 year old at Petsmart trained for those types of rescue animals? I sure hope so.
