My mother was the same. Any treat she made had half sugar half salt, no cereal if sugar was in the first 3 ingredients, and would rarely buy candy.
I went on to work in a bulk candy store, and usually have some bag of candy nearby.

- neom 8y agoNO GO HALLOWEEN. For my mum anyways. She pretended it was a pagan holiday.
- mikewhy 8y agoOh we still went out trick-or-treating. We weren't allowed to pig out on candy afterwards, just a few pieces a day. When we did start giving out candy it was still your average small chocolate bars, not granola or anything.
