The Crenshaw/LAX line that does just that is scheduled to open in 2020:

...although its utility will be limited until they connect it to the Red/Purple lines, and that's still on the drawing board.
- kenhwang 8y agoThen there's the people mover for inner-LAX travel between the train station and the terminals scheduled for 2023. But once that and the connection to red/purple is done, I'd say LA's public transit would be in a reasonably usable state.
