I don’t understand the reasoning / appeal of a new national sales tax for half of the new funding, as opposed to making this financed through payroll taxes exclusively. Maybe it’s to emphasize the 8% cost savings right off the bat to get private companies on board, but man, solving the escalating cost problem is a gift on its own. And we have already done the dance of trickle down, how about we directly deliver cost relief to the worker one time...
