Nice to see this type of research coming out of МГУ (Lomonosov Moscow State University)! Haven’t gone through the study, but seeing the examples wondering if there is also selection bias - many older Russian sites still look fairly dated and users may be more used to that look, finding it more familiar and easier to navigate.
