A couple of years ago I applied for a job at Hipmunk and ended interviewing with Steve, then the CTO. I don’t remember everything but at some point he did ask me to write a program that prints out a spiral. Reading this article, and remembering that interview, made me realize that no one can really know what the collapse of civilization will look like, but it is always good to be prepared with a two dimensional array or a good GUI library.
