I've written some rather large python apps with Django and Flask. I'd never voluntarily choose it again over Elixir/Phoenix. (Only if there was heavy numerical processing or something of the sort where a library like Pandas would be necessary.) Working with Elixir/Phoenix is a far superior experience in nearly every way for web/api IMO.
