Samsung's 2019 TVs can remotely access your PC
- jimnotgym 8y agoGet a proper router that allows VLANning, and put any IOT devices in their own VLAN. If your scary IOT device needs to see your NAS, then your NAS needs to go on its own LAN too with forwarding rules to allow the IOT device to use the specific ports that it needs to stream and nothing else. Fiddle to set up, but worth it.
- rraghur 8y agoGot a good guide for this? I have tomato firmware but just don't know enough on how to get this set up
- jimnotgym 8y agoYour best bet is the manual for your router. The higher end Drayteks are very good for this (28xx can and have very good manuals), pfsense looks good too. Mikrotiks work but I find out is very easy to make a mistake. I have found a few that have been left rather exposed...by pros too. To test if you have been successful I recommend plugging into your untrusted network with a laptop and scanning with nmap (or zenmap for a gui. You shouldn't be able to see other devices). Enterprise type WiFi devices like Unifi allow you to set up separate wireless vlans too. In fact Unifi WiFi to Unifi security router is probably the easiest way to get this set up.

- unwiredben 8y agoIt sounds like they've just ported rdesktop to the TVs app store.
