I have run Fedora for the last 3 years on my XPS. I do hang out at /r/dell and /r/fedora and havent generally seen anyone having any issues. Fully out-of-the-box performance. I havent used Ubuntu for a long time, so im not sure what the issues are. But I like Fedora for their professional distros.
