Interesting that he cited Peter Thiel as an influence, specifically citing Thiel’s advice that “competition is a looser [sic], monopolies are the path to success.” First of all, his business was never going to be a monopoly, patents or no. More importantly, I’d feel very uneasy owning a monopolistic business, considering how much I hate monopolies. But maybe that’s why I’m not rich and other people are.
