Yes it is competitive, i would challenge you to find any evidence thst solar and wind can provide energy enough for the worlds needs, otherwise you are just a victim of you own blind ideology.
- pfdietz 8y agoYour self-delusion would be sad if it weren't so hilarious. Anyone with the slightest familiarity with current market conditions and costs would know that nuclear is dead technology walking. Attempts to build new reactors in the US and Europe have failed, and failed spectacularly. They are not even close to economically competitive. Even in China, where costs are opaque, there's now a move away from new reactors. Deluded fools such as yourself confabulate conspiracy theories to explain away this reality -- Greenpeace is a common supervillain invoked here -- but that's flat-earth level nonsense.
- ThomPete 8y agoThe only flat earth nonsense here is people believing that solar or wind is actually realistically a solution to the worlds energy needs.
- JoeAltmaier 8y agoIt works in certain places. Here in Iowa we get a third of our electricity from wind.
- ThomPete 8y agoAnd in denmark they get more but its not reliable which means you have to support it with other more reliable sources such as coal. Which happens all the time. Plus you use it for almost zero percent of your transportation.
- JoeAltmaier 8y agoOurs is pretty reliable, out here in the 'plains states'. It's blowing pretty much every day, most of the day. And our 'support' source is nuclear, curiously.

- pfdietz 8y agoVery well. The person I was responding to was posting obviously false comments and ignoring correction, though, which seriously compromises the SNR of this forum.
