Another perspectivemight be that selling a small amount of shares gives the founders the financial stability to weather any storms. Let's say they sell 2 mil worth. Small in the grand scheme of things, but invested wisely can cover food, modest rent in an apartment etc for life assuming they do odd jobs. Then again I come from a working class background, so I may have a different perspective.
