Ask HN: Don't we need a better terminate policy from service providers?
Once in a while, I see an internet company is blocking users or customers without early notice with different reasons behind it. Sometimes it is just a social network and sometimes is a service provider that part of a business depends on it.
IMO, we need a fairer terminate policy regardless of what is the reason (sanctions, hate speech, or the term of use that nobody reads) behind banning a user.
Shouldn't we have a better terminate policy? I can imagine how disturbing it can be for a user to lose access to all its data.
Perhaps there are some exceptions for instance when there is a legal order. But in other cases, we shouldn't just disconnect the user without early notification. That might be different when it is just about hiding or removing a public content of the user though.
I wanted to bring it up here to see what is your opinion about it since many of you are part of running an online business.
