What is a jet supposed to do against a drone?
Best option would be to send up another drone and fly into it / follow it if it tries to escape. I'm sure the police or army must have their own drones for other purposes which would be usable, and if not, its inconceivable that it wouldn't be possible to get hold of a drone in a few hours.
Currently they seem to be assuming someone is actively flying it... That might be the case, but it could equally well be flying by GPS and controlled from anywhere in the world over a mobile data connection, in which case the police are wasting their time.

- hacoo 8y agoA jet would not be able to fly slow enough, or turn tightly enough, to track a drone. A helicopter might be able to do it, but even then, getting rid of the drone safely would be very difficult...
- honestoHeminway 8y agoImagine a terrorist cell, which consists of just some task-rabbits, receiving parcells and plugging parcels into the "maschine", which charges drones, and releases them according to some mysterious connection. There is nobody on site, to actually commit the acts. Gig economy terrorism, now that has to scale.
