We use the purchased version of Google Apps, and while it is slightly better than the free gmail we still get a lot of slow searches on the web interface or instances of "unable to load conversation" when trying to view mail. One of the greatest selling points of Google Apps for us is having all previous mail archived and search-able so this is somewhat disappointing, but the total search time + time spent retrying is still less than the total search time would be using 10GB of mail in Outlook.
