- chrisseaton 8y agoRuby has absolutely no process - not even an equivalent of PEPs. What corruption do you think there is there?
- detaro 8y agoNot no process, since Matz is effectively BDFL, isn't he?
- chrisseaton 8y agoThat’s the abscence of process. No votes, no committees, no grown people pretending they’re a court of appeal.
- detaro 8y agoI guess it points to a difference between klennwell's and jetrink's comments above: "The BDFL has the final say" is process in the sense of jetrink's comment (it's an explicit power structure that can avoid some of the worst of the unorganized alternatives, with IMHO unique acceptance), but it's not bureaucracy as in klennwells. I had mentally nested your comment wrong.
- wnissen 8y agoThe process is simple, but not absent.
- dragonwriter 8y agoCommunity proposes, Matz disposes is a process, if a dirt simple, low-ceremony one.
- contravariant 8y agoThat seems optimistic. Especially since bureaucracy and corruption have coexisted in various scenarios.
