Ask HN: Is the popular WYSIWYG Editor Froala spying on my users?
Hey folks,
I received the following disturbing message from the folks at Froala.
It makes me think they're spying on our usage, but I've been see any telemetry going back.
Has anyone else received this email?

>> Hi Marcus,
>> Hope all is good and that you enjoy the Froala Editor.
>> We know that sometimes legal terms might get overlooked and we are sending you this email just to inform you about a potential misunderstanding. Usage of the editor in SaaS applications and Intranets is only permitted under the SaaS License.
>> Our anti-piracy team has identified some applications that use incorrectly the Hobby and Professional licenses instead of the SaaS one. You can easily check if this is your case using the questions below. If you reply to any of them with "Yes", then you need a SaaS license:
>> 1. Is your product a SaaS application? This means that your customers pay a subscription. E.g.: monthly, yearly.
>> 2. Is the editor being used in an Intranet application? Intranet is a private network accessible only to your company's staff (employees and partners).
>> We are a friendly company and we know that this can happen unintentionally. In case you are required a SaaS license, but you have used a Hobby or Professional one instead, a simple upgrade the to SaaS license will fix the problem and will avoid any further checks and emails from the anti-piracy team in the future. To upgrade just use the following link:

I don't run a SaaS or Intranet, but I could imagine how our usage patterns would look like one.
I have not been able to see any telemetry that is obviously going to a Froala domain.
