A more feasible option is to compile Clojure byte code to native code with GraalVM (http://www.graalvm.org/docs/reference-manual/aot-compilation/ http://www.graalvm.org/docs/reference-manual/aot-compilation...). GraalVM's native compiler still has some limitations but is coming along nicely.
