After this long, would DNA be retrievable in sufficient quality that you could do DNA analysis of this kind?
- paulpauper 8y agoconsidering DNA can be extracted from neanderthals, I think so
- gwern 8y agoAbsolutely. Forensics and archaeological DNA recovers DNA from hundreds or hundreds of thousands of years ago easily. The real question is whether the family would cooperate and provide or give permission for samples from themselves and Calment's corpse. It's easy to see why they might decide to ignore this and stonewall.
