I scan the subject lines of the messages in my inbox, and only open the ones that I think have relevant information that I can’t get some other way. (I currently have greater than 7700 unread emails in a relatively low traffic account.) Any time taken to touch/manage/sort/categorize/unsubscribe is a waste.
