Both the politicians and those who stand to profit (ultra rich white old men) don't have to live on this planet for long. Look at how many of them are 80+ years old. They will simply die and want to have one last party before they do. They and their kids won't suffer, their money is enough to shield them from all consequences, and it will take about 10-20 years until all that defunding really hits home anyway. It's remarkably similar to software development. Agile works only with short feedback times, while waterfall with its notoriously long cycles always ends up failing. The only way to really fix the situation is a revolution of the masses. And now ask yourselves why the police forces all over the country were equipped with ex military arms, training and vehicles. Why there were quasi-military police at the G20 riots. Why the surveillance state grows day by day. The old white f..ks are scared as hell - that my generation will ruin their final party.
