  Huh. Don’t know how I got that mixed up. Thanks. Edit: Wikipedia’s article on China says, “Covering approximately 9,600,000 square kilometers (3,700,000 sq mi), it is the third- or fourth-largest country by total area, depending on the source consulted.“ Now I’m just confused. Area of a country seems like something there would be broad agreement on.

    How do we calculate land area? Is the area more if there's a hill rather than the place being flat? How do we get accurate land areas?
