Strange that some constitutional protections apply to non-citizens whilst the second amendment does not.
- danielvf 8y agoIf you think that's weird, some of the articles in the Bill of Rights currently are held to preserve those freedoms against state governments, and others do not. In fact, the fourth amendment, "Unreasonable search and seizure", only officially was applied to states in 1961, the second amendment in 2010, and the eighth amendment about excessive fines is still in the Supreme Court with a decision expected next year.
- eqdw 8y agoIt's not about citizen vs noncitizen, it's about the fact that I'm on a non-immigrant visa specifically. People holding, eg., H1Bs would not be subject to this constraint as far as I know
- EduardoBautista 8y agoH1B is non-immigrant.
- digianarchist 8y agoH1-B holders are subject to these constraints.
