This might be good, except there's no difference between "You're good but someone else was a bit better" to "You should get out of this industry and stop wasting your time. You aren't owed a living." which is generally the more correct thing. I wish people gave better signals for the latter, so you might know better whether you should keep applying, pivot careers, or check out.
