I was about to criticize you for not strengthening your attention span, that maybe sometimes you really do need 39 points... but on closer reading, I agree this could have been trimmed down. At the very least, 34 - 36 are variations of the same theme, and I'd simplify the entire section on humor down to just point 25: "It's better to be clear than funny." But it seems like this was written as 39 points that help the author when they write, and it just happens that many of the points that help them are also useful to others. There's a lot of really good stuff in here & I wouldn't dismiss it just on length.
