Ask HN: How do Small and Medium Manufacturers manage orders, quotes, customers?

Do you know of any Small and Medium Manufacturers? Maybe you are an SMM yourself? I’m really interested to learn firsthand what kind of CRM/MRP you are using. Not so much about ERPs like SAP, Oracle, Infor, etc. - unless you’d consider yourself an SMM. As far as we know many use an industry specific Customer Relations / Sales / Manufacturing Planning Management software or similar monstrous system… Or, just Excel and alike ;) especially when it comes to custom manufacturing. How do you do customer relations and manufacturing: Pen and Paper? Back of the envelope calculations? Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets? What are your experiences?
