Because there’s already plenty of places on the internet to host a censored photo blog for free. And because some people (myself included) resent the implication that watching porn is deviant behavior. And because there’s actually no conclusive evidence that’s it’s harmful to children.
- walrus66 8y agoCan you clarify? Are you saying that Tumblr should not be allowed to regulate porn because you took personal offense from an implication and because it’s okay for children to watch porn and so should have easy access to it? If that’s what you’re saying, I respectfully disagree
- detaro 8y agoNeither the article nor any of the commenters in this chain has said anything about "Tumblr should not be allowed" to do this.
- TallGuyShort 8y agoAre you aware that in this case the actual issue was child pornography?
- ahoy 8y agoThat's obviously not the case, otherwise they'd have banned only that.
- TallGuyShort 8y agoWhen do you think child pornography was not banned? It's widely believed to be an issue of effective enforcement, and they explicitly call out the connection in their own announcement.
