- Nasrudith 8y agoThat isn't unprecedented sadly, Wallace Carothers [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Carothers https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Carothers], the inventor of nylon committed suicide despite becoming head researcher of DuPont. Despite admitting serious red flags that could harm his ability to work the CEO came out to personally persuade him. In the great depression no less. Of course neither is murdering the turbulent.
- eastWestMath 8y agoMany people at the top of their field suffer from depression. Floer was a 28 year old tenured professor at Berkeley when he killed himself.
