I had a cycling accident 4 years ago, and so I remember this problem VERY well. The second time the bright-eyed resident working for my surgeon came by to talk with me WITHOUT HAVING ANY NEW INFORMATION before 6 in the morning, I read him the fucking riot act. It didn't happen again. But I was a fit (if broken) 44-year-old white dude with good insurance, very sure my privilege and very willing to exploit it. I'm sure they run roughshod over meeker folks.
