There isn't a lot of correlation between gun laws in an area and gun violence. Even if you have strict gun laws, its not that hard to get guns in neighboring areas with more lax laws. Also, the vast majority of gun violence is self inflicted, or between associates. If you aren't living in the ghetto, the chances of becoming the victim of random gun violence is slim to none.
- ptd 8y agoWhat about people who live “in the ghetto”?
- thousandautumns 8y agoThen yeah, it sucks, but they probably don’t have much of a choice of where they are living, and the discussion is about why someone would or wouldn’t want to move somewhere, so it isn’t relevant.
- dymk 8y agoAbsolutely irrelevant to what I said. This is what the parent comment said: > Why are gun laws an issue to anyone that doesn't routinely find themselves getting in fights or entering other people's homes uninvited? It's absolutely absurd to assert that only those breaking into houses or getting into fights are only ones getting gunned down. Every innocent victim of gun violence, both directly affected and friends/family of those involved, have a right to be concerned.
