- hvidgaard 8y agoYeah, that is not going to work. It's prohibitively expensive to hire and then fire a candidate. You have to convince me you're fit for the job. Either through referrals, or something equivalent - and no, I'm not a trying to show how smart I am by having you recite a RB-tree implementation with a correct remove. That wouldn't show me anything about how you can do the job, just that you studies RB trees...
- fernandopj 8y agoThat "hire fast, fire faster" mentality doesn't work in all countries, industries and legislations.
- CamTin 8y agoThe OP was asking about the ideal process. This should be a starting point and any other demands that practicality and regulation cause an employer to want should be compensated. Can't hire me right away? OK, then just pay me my eventual salary while you interview me. If they can't afford this, then they can't afford to hire, probably because the complexity of their business is too high, and they should be broken up or nationalized.
