I would surely hope that salaries are their greatest cost by a large margin, but not sure how it's relevant to my point of it being difficult to emphatize with these publishers who engage in evil practices. Heck, they could just build a static site and host it for free on GitLab. So we have publishers whose articles can be hosted for free, said articles are likely seen by thousands, sometimes millions, of people, most of which are articles that are mostly copied from other publishers/blogs with little to no research put into it. And we are to believe that this cannot be profitable without pulling this kind of bullshit?
