currently, my cell phone (non-smartphone) provides me with more meaning and intimacy than fb. i get information quickly; it's fast, efficient, and effective; i don't have to sign in to anything (except for voicemails, which i very rarely check); it's pretty much with me wherever i go; it's relevantly actionable -- i get timely invites to go do stuff with people that i care about and want to do (because people with my # know what i'm interested in); i can actually talk to people, which is something i enjoyed doing a lot growing up.
