Layout-wise, this looks like the mobile version of Wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Solve_It https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Solve_It (compared to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Solve_It https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Solve_It)
What other features does this offer?
- phelm 8y agoI use this script for tampermonkey which forwards all Wikipedia pages to the mobile version, a much more pleasant browsing experience https://gist.github.com/phelma/45c111839dc96bc1456018a584791495 https://gist.github.com/phelma/45c111839dc96bc1456018a584791...
- swiley 8y agoI would prefer the mobile version if the sections weren't collapsed by default and there was a TOC.
- anotheryou 8y agoI made the contents even sticky on the left: Hacky desktop CSS for stylish: https://pastebin.com/W0QKXMSi https://pastebin.com/W0QKXMSi looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/NQc3m0z https://imgur.com/a/NQc3m0z top and left has small grey bars you can hover for some more stuff that's hidden. I pulled it from stylish in order to boycott them and haven't had time to move it elsewhere yet... I got an inverted version too on request. (even more hacky, but should even work with formulas)
- forgotmypw 8y agoFor one thing, it offers all the sections not collapsing every time you load the fucking page...
- notatoad 8y agowhen opening m.wikipedia on desktop, none of the sections are collapsed.
- forgotmypw 8y agoThank you for this useful piece of information. What browser are you using? Do you have JS enabled? Have you tried it on a mobile device, the target segment for m.?
- notatoad 8y agoOn a mobile device, they are collapsed. On desktop, they are not. that was the point of my comment saying that on desktop they are not collapsed. as a comparison to the linked reader view, which only works on desktop, the behaviour on mobile isn't really relevant.
- exergy 8y agoAnd totally orthogonal to his point. It was pretty obvious his point was about using it on mobile, whereas your post came across as pedantic and flippant. Specially when you say things like "the behaviour on mobile isn't really relevant" about the mobile version of the website!

- scarcely 8y agoWhy are people so aggressive towards each other on this website lmao
- jxramos 8y agoSeems to hide all the extraneous buttons and controls that are not applicable to read only mode. Much cleaner style than the mobile version.
