I'm no investor, but I assume a whole year of the markets crashing would discourage people.

  Then again, when you look at the rest of the economy it would seem that people only have a two year memory for really bad ideas, at best.

  Yes, I used to think stocks were a good investment, but then that one year they all crashed and I realized stocks are all hype.

    Who's saying anything like that? My thoughts are, if a markets in a steady decline with no signs of improving, is it a good investment?

      Yeah, I wouldn't touch the S&P500 right now either. Such a brutal October/November.
