All of the things that you listed though would be solved with a vastly reduced population. Our population growth in the last 150 years alone is just absurd[0]. I agree, 10billion is just a matter of time but even if these 10 billion people lived as sustainably as possible, the lower economic countries will develop and begin requiring more and more resources. Even a fully vegan lifestyle for 10 billion people would cause a huge amount of damage in order to deforest and irrigate produce - far more damage than if world population was 500 million and living with our current western values

So we will hit the mark, the question is what to do about it. Many of the population that lives in our 7b planet are not living according Western standards, and if they do, we will be in trouble. Just as an example, you can take this test to see how many Earths we would need if we lived like you: https://www.footprintcalculator.org/ https://www.footprintcalculator.org/ In my case is2.1 Earths, but I understand that for many people it would me much more. So there is the quid of the question, how many Earths we would need per person, not how many persons we have on Earth because that is a number that is irremediably going to grow up to a certain, fixed point and then stop. There are many things we could fix before encouraging a fully vegan lifestyle.
