Doing what the rightwing populists shout about won't solve the issue. Curbing the rightwing press, be it the Daily Mail and Sun which both run vicious campaigns full of lies on a regular basis, the German Bild Zeitung or the Austrian Krone and Österreich, or in my region the unbearable Wochenblick. Their readers take those lies for facts, but they aren't. We need proper media education, hold the media to accounts when they spread lies. We also need checks in place on how the government is advertising in those newspapers. Austria's new rightwing government is especially corrupt (in want for a better word) in this detail.
