He went to a quarantined area just to proselytize. These are endangered tribal who have remained practically un-contacted for thousand of years.
As someone who is not very familiar with western religions, can anyone explain the rational behind such acts?
- joshstrange 8y ago> western religion > rational 404 Error Not Found. But seriously you aren't going to find it. Very simply: They believe they were put on this earth to serve a purpose and that god will protect them and when he doesn't it was all part of his plan.
- dragonwriter 8y ago> As someone who is not very familiar with western religions, can anyone explain the rational behind such acts? (note: you probably mean “rationale”, not “rational”.) Universal proselytization is generally a command of (most schools of) Christianity, and seen as a service to the people at which it is directed since the faith is seen as essential (or at a minimum beneficial) to salvation. (I understand that nearly the same thing is true in Islam.)
- celticninja 8y agoIts basically one of the most selfish things a religious person can do. They spend their time trying to get people top believe in their god, so that they benefit personally because it makes god happy with them. They don't help people just to help them, there is an underlying reason which is the personal benefit of the preacher. This guy was no different.
- mbrodersen 8y agoEasy. (Western) religions aren't rational. So don't expect religious fanatics to be rational either.
