I don't think he's wrong, but this can be said about existing pioneers in electrification as well (e.g. Toyota, Honda) which have already brought electrification to the masses in the US with improved efficiency and no compromises. It's rare that I don't see an electric hybrid taxi/Uber/Lyft in the US.
- agumonkey 8y agoI wonder if hybrid should become the new bottom. No ICE unless it has some small electric power and regenerative braking.
- rcMgD2BwE72F 8y agoBe careful with hybrids, especially if you can't plug them in. Even the plugin hybrids might be worst for the environment: https://www.bbc.com/news/business-46152853 https://www.bbc.com/news/business-46152853 (transporting a heavy battery and never charge it is pretty dumb). We really need to skip the hybrid phase and go directly to 100% BEV.
- agumonkey 8y agoI don't get it. Hybrid charges on use and breaking. To save on traffic jam, stops / lights and random city driving. That's how I understood it.. am I wrong ? I get that companies might buy things and the use them wrong but that's another issue.
