It comes down to what do you value in life.
Do you wanna literally help promote fascism and misinformation?
Go work at FB and moonshine at Monsanto on your free time.
- hacknat 8y agoMoonshine? Do you mean moonlight? ;)
- jfk13 8y agoNot sure I'd want to try moonshine from Monsanto...
- skdd8 8y agolol.. sorry typo. I did mean moonlight Forget about Monsanto. The point I wanted to make is that FB is that they have a lot of power to shape culture/discourse and take little to no responsibility when things go wrong. Until I don't see a change on their behavior/policies (by them or some regulating power). I will be weary about working with them or using their products.
- xfitm3 8y agoWhy not join and try to fix it?
- saagarjha 8y agoThis is incredibly hard to do, especially if the culture seems ingrained in the policy decisions of the other 30,000 employees. Sure, it’s possible to join a company and change a couple of small things, but usually if you go against the company’s culture for long enough you’ll end up on your way out: either because your life will just be miserable, or because someone will fire you.
- magduf 8y agoThese are companies, not governments; there's no democracy there. You either do as management says, or you get fired. Good luck organizing enough coworkers to try to force management's hand.
